infested

this past weekend, i rearranged my furniture in my tiny studio and cleaned/dusted/mopped my living area. it felt great! esp since last week, i was killing a roach a night. got my roach motels/traps in and haven't seen another roach since. very relieved about that.

but last night i woke up at 3am scratching the side of my right knee and under the rightside of my jawbone (mandible - i learned that in anatomy last week!) to the point of almost bleeding. then i just opened my eyes and couldn't go back to sleep after realizing i might be being terrorized by a mosquito. i turned on all my lights and freaked out when i saw two bites on my knee, one on my ankle, one on my calf, one HUGE bite on my right butt cheek, the one under my jawbone, AND one on my finger! WTF?!! mosquitos bite fingers!?!?!

i couldn't sleep for an hour... afraid that the bugger will come back and suck more of my blood if i let my guard down. but i never saw her (females bite, males don't) appear.... my ninja skills weren't on point last night.

but i didn't get another bite the rest of the night. i drank some orange juice hoping that my pores would release that citrus odor or chemical that they don't like... maybe it worked...

i'm gonna have to be on guard tonight... why can't i just get one good night's sleep?!?!?
